Founded in 2003 Bell Tower Theater has established itself as one of the area's most respected cultural organizations. Our mission is "To provide a high-quality and dynamic community program of live theater, education and events for residents of and visitors to the Tri-State Area."
The Bell Tower Theater produced six comedies and musicals each year, most of which are being produced in Dubuque for the first time. We run an award-winning youth theater program, which includes children's classes, a full scale kid-for-kids musical and performances for kids and families, and we provide space for performances, meetings, and special events for organizations from throughout the area. Each year more than 17,0000 people attend our plays and participate in our programs. These patrons are of all ages, ethnicities and socio-economic backgrounds and include residents of the Dubuque Area and tourists from across the country.

Marketing and Public Relations Internship
The Bell Tower Theater, celebrating its 16th Anniversary season in 2018, is one of Dubuque’s most respected performing arts organizations. The Bell Tower Theater performs comedies and musicals all year long and has an award-winning youth theater program. This dynamic organization is a great place to learn and have fun!
Mission: To provide a dynamic and quality program of theater and other live performances and projects for all people in and visitors to the Tri-State Area.
Position Description: Reporting to Miki Robinson, Operations and Marketing Manger, the marketing and public relations intern will be responsible for assisting with all aspects of public relations and marketing for Bell Tower Theater events and kids programs. The position can be tailored to specific areas of focus depending on the intern.
Responsibilities: Assist in public relations and marketing efforts for a not-for-profit organization with an annual operating budget of approximately $300,000. Specific tasks could include writing mailings, press releases and donor solicitations and developing marketing strategies. The intern may also be asked to assist with other duties at the theater.
Qualifications: Highly motivated, well organized and willing to take initiative. Possess strong verbal and written skills. Knowledge of or experience working in theatre helpful but not required.
Hours: 10–12 hours per week minimum, for the fall 2018 semester.
Compensation: Unpaid, but interns are allowed to attend performances at no charge
Academic credit: This internship has qualified for credit at Loras College, Clarke University, Iowa State University, UW Platteville and NICC as well as several other institutions across the Midwest. Supervisor Miki Robinson will happily work with any college to fulfill the necessary credit requirements.
