Medical Associates Clinic offers several locations from which to seek medical care, including facilities at 1500 Associates Drive, 1000 Langworthy, and 1940 Elm Street in Dubuque, Iowa; as well as facilities in Bellevue, Cascade, Dyersville, Elkader, and Monona, Iowa; Cuba City, and Platteville, Wisconsin; and Elizabeth and Galena, Illinois.
Medical Associates currently has an opening for a part time receptionist at its Elizabeth, Illinois location. This is a part time position working approximately 49 hours in a two week pay period. General responsibilities include greet patients, answering phones, taking and relaying messages, scheduling appointments, checking patients in , updating demographic and insurance information, setting up new insurance, collecting copays and payments and posting, issuing receipts, preparing and making daily bank deposits. This individual will be trained in phlebotomy. Those duties include: drawing blood and processing specimens, performing in office lab procedures and performing laboratory controls and maintenance.
Hours for this position may vary depending on physician schedules but typical hours are as follows: Monday 7am - 3:30p, Tuesday/Thursday/Friday 7:30am - 12p, and every 1st and 3rd Wednesday of the month 7:30am - 12p. This position will include a Saturday rotation in the Galena office 1 out of every 4 Saturdays. May also include occasional fill in at the Galena office.
Qualified candidates must possess and have demonstrated excellent customer service and communication skills.
Essential Functions & Responsibilities:
Schedule and coordinate multiple appointments and create lab/xray orders.
Communicate clearly with patients via telephone and in person and relay necessary messages to staff.
General knowledge of basic insurance coverage and financial classes.
Act as a resource to assure, mentor and teach best practices to teammates.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Education: Equivalent to a high school education.
Exprience: From three months to one year of similar or related experience.
