Medical Associates Clinic offers several locations from which to seek medical care, including facilities at 1500 Associates Drive, 1000 Langworthy, and 1940 Elm Street in Dubuque, Iowa; as well as facilities in Bellevue, Cascade, Dyersville, Elkader, and Monona, Iowa; Cuba City, and Platteville, Wisconsin; and Elizabeth and Galena, Illinois.
Provide quality professional nursing care for psychiatry and psychology patients following licensure requirements, Clinic standards of practice and within the nursing scope of practice. Assists providers and co workers in collecting and assessing information, giving injections, telephonic nurse support and independent assessment for mental health patients, coordinating and carrying out diverse patient care plans and services, including pharmacy refills and monitoring of narcotics.
Major Duties and Responsibilities:
Collaborate with health care team using telehealth and triage decision making tools and protocols to direct/perform independent nursing assessment and intervention.
Integrate the nursing process in all patient contact, care, diagnostic testing, and treatments. Collect pertinent patient health care data, review medical records and confer/collaborate with physician/mid level providers to ensure complex patient needs are met. Ensure the plan reflects current rules, regulations and evidenced based standards and practices.
Communicate effectively with patients, co workers, and external customers to share the decision making process and influence the expected outcome. Promote patient wellness and provide patient education. Document care provided, including but not limited to: assessment, interventions, medication, patient education, and assist with integrity of medical record.
Demonstrate flexibility in performing other additional duties of patient care. Provide input for devising systems to improve quality and efficiency of patient care and workflow. Participate in required meetings.
Maintain an office environment that is safe, neat, organized, and supplied with necessary equipment, instruments, supplies, and educational materials. Ensure equipment is functioning safely and properly. Perform cleaning and maintenance of equipment according to guidelines.
Facilitate reimbursement of services provided, including but not limited to, charge tickets, referrals, and insurance requirements.
Complete all other assigned projects and duties.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
Education: Equivalent to a two-year college degree or completion of a specialized course of study or certification at a business or trade school. Must have valid RN license.
Experience: One to three years of similar or related experience.
